Driver Qualifications

The employment qualifications for all driver applicants are as follows:

  • Minimum 23 years old.
  • Have a class A CDL.
  • Minimum 1 year verifiable experience or
  • Acceptable truck driving school graduate with a certificate.
  • Pass a GTG road test.
  • Pass a DOT physical and drug test.
  • Have a clean MVR.
  • Provide 10 years employment/unemployment history.
  • DUI must be older than five (5) years and only one (1) in a lifetime.
  • Misdemeanors must be older than five (5) years.
  • No Felonies.

Drivers are paid on PC Miler Practical Miles, loaded or empty. (Written verification of tractor trailer experience within the last three years is required)

Quarterly Bonus 0.02 cents per mile is Based on Safety, Performance, Customer Service. Paid after each full quarter of service.

* Paid hourly wages for shuttle work

Saftey Bonus - Clean DOT Inspection = $150.00
* No Hours-of-service violations 30 days = $50.00

Training for truck driving school graduates and drivers with less than one year of experience is available.

New Driver Referral/Recruiting Program

Any Garner employee who refers a driver will earn one (1) week of paid vacation after the new driver completes six (6) months of service following the delivery of his/her first load. The referring employee will be eligible to take EITHER one (1) week of vacation at their normal vacation pay rate OR just take the vacation pay. The vacation and/or pay MUST be taken within one (1) year of the date the vacation time is awarded.
